Traditionally used to prevent drunkenness and promote sobriety, it helps manage passions and addictions while also addressing blockages, harmonizing your existence.
Amethyst propels the spirit upward, inspiring ascension. It enhances consciousness, making it easier to recognize upward impulses. This stone is perfect for developing intuition.
Mental and Emotional Effect
Amethyst aids in focusing and turning thoughts to higher subjects. It supports both common sense and spiritual insights, connecting cause with effect and helping to accept new ideas.
Amethyst is widely used to combat nightmares, though some people report it occasionally causes vivid dreams. Generally, it promotes a peaceful sleeping experience, facilitates dream recall, and aids in visualization.
Amethyst is known as a mood regulator, taming rage and anger, and balancing emotional highs and lows.
Jewelry
Amethyst is best worn on the head, ears, or as a necklace. Smooth, non-faceted beads are ideal. It pairs well with obsidian, garnet, clear quartz, smoky quartz, rose quartz, lapis lazuli, black tourmaline, turquoise, amazonite, peridot, and jade. For wisdom and knowledge, wear Amethyst as a ring on the middle finger of your dominant hand.
Cleansing
Cleanse Amethyst with early morning sunlight for no longer than 5 minutes.
It can also be cleansed in water for 3-5 minutes or placed in healthy grass on the Earth for at least half an hour. Burying Amethyst for a day in a clean environment can also cleanse and recharge it. Dry salt can be used overnight, but wash off any crystals with water afterward. Avoid salty water, and discard used salt. This method is not suitable for geodes, as salt may stick in pockets and erode the crystals. Use salt on smooth forms of Amethyst.
Warning: Amethyst fades in sunlight. To preserve its color, avoid direct sunlight for more than a few minutes
