Amber
Amber History

Amber is a form of petrified tree resin that has been subjected to intense pressure underground over millions of years. Its colors can range from milky white to dark brown, but it predominantly exhibits various shades of yellow, from lemon to honey to strong tea. All these hues possess some degree of translucency. The Ancient Greek term for Amber is ‘Electron’, which is the root of our modern word ‘electricity’. This connection arose because rubbing Amber against wool generates static electricity.

Spiritual and Psychological Effects

Amber is known for its supportive, subtly energizing, and overwhelmingly positive vibes. Owing to its organic origin, it has a profound connection to Earth and life. It is renowned as a powerful healer and revitalizer, capable of transforming negativity into positive forces and aiding in bodily healing.

Its warm and bright color dispels depression, instills a sunny creative disposition, fosters motivation, and helps overcome psychological barriers to achieve one’s goals.

Spiritually, Amber’s sun-filled energy is believed to gently inspire the spirit to embrace its potential, unfolding creativity and joy of life.

Physical Benefits

Amber is beneficial for all chakras, but it is most widely recognized for supporting the Throat Chakra. It is traditionally used for treating thyroid conditions. The yellow ray of Amber enhances its benefits for the Solar Plexus Chakra.

Its connection to Earth and the Sun also makes it useful for mild grounding and as a source of solar energy.

Medical advice

Please be aware that gemstones are by no means a substitute to medical advise. Be sure to speak to your health professional if you are heaving any health concerns.

Cleansing Amber

To cleanse Amber, place it in the sun for 10-20 minutes. If the sun is too hot, reduce this time. Alternatively, you can hang Amber in the branches of a thriving plant or place it on the Earth for at least an hour.

Warnings

  1. Do not expose Amber to extreme heat or fire, as it can burn like any other resin.

  2. Amber is fragile and breaks easily.
